Ma Ma and Ba Ba put me in the Bucky Carrier and we went for a walk because the temperature outside dropped unexpectedly and I was not tired. We went up the street called Grand Canyon Drive, which is odd because it is not grand and there is no canyon.
Anyway, we went to the intersection near where my friend Erika will stay when she visits with her parents, Carmelita and Ward. We decided to turn around there. As we walked back about 30 metres, there was a screech. A pickup ran the stop sign. Kaboom! Judging by how far the two vehicles traveled together, they had to be driving fairly quickly.
Good thing I told the Help to turn around when I did.
Starting today, Ma Ma goes to work in the morning leaving me alone with Ba Ba for the day. I miss her when she is gone.
Po Po and Gong Gong stayed for 2 weeks. They are driving back to Canada today. It is a long drive.
They said it was too hot here. I will see them again at the end of September in Calgary, Alberta.
I must be getting big because there is a number 1 on my new package of diapers where it used to say N.
It was stormy here today. Lots of wind, rain, lightning and thunder. You can't really tell by this picture, but the thunder was loud.
Today is also Uncle Jamie's birthday! Uncle Jamie is old.
Ooo... Today we went all the way out to this place called Lake Las Vegas. This is my furthest adventure yet. We went to the Ritz Carlton and the Casino Monte Lago. It was very nice out there.
We went outside, where it was hot. There was not very many people out there.
I could not hold it any longer and Ba Ba gave me a fresh diaper at the Ritz Carlton restroom before we went back home.
Today it started. I don't know why, really. But sometimes when I laugh or cry, I snort.
*giggle*
I got to see Dr Smith again today. Did I mention he is cool? Guess what. I weigh 4.8 kg (10 lbs 10 oz) now. I gained one lb per week for 3 weeks. At that rate, I will be 150 lbs when I am still three years old! I am also 58.5 cm (23 inches) tall. I turned 35 days old today.
I know I am getting bigger because when the Help pick me up, I have to grab on to anything I can. I can hold on to their clothes when they lift me now.
Oh, it is also Bastille Day. France revolted against its monarchy 215 years ago. France is old.
Woohoo! Ba Ba's family sent me a new camera! It used to be Uncle Jamie's. I guess they want more pictures of me.
Teehee. Last night I let out an explosive poo that cleared the change table and got Ba Ba. I should patent that.
As soon as I'm old enough to learn what a patent is.
The Help took everyone to Fashion Show Mall to find clothes for Uncle Galvin's wedding in September. I get a new auntie! Her name is Karen. 'Karen' almost sounds like 'Kieran', right? More about her another day.
We had to wait while Po Po tried on dresses. I slept through most of it.
My grandma (祖母) and grandpa (祖父) are visiting from Vancouver, Canada today. They are going to stay here for a couple of weeks and teach me some Cantonese words.
Grandpa called to tell me he's going to come visit over the Labour Day weekend in September. Mama says I'm really powerful, because he did not visit before I got here.
We went to Todai at the Aladdin today for lunch. We met Stephanie and Aven there.
They did not bring little Eric, so I slept the entire time. They just talked about grownup stuff. And I am too young for sushi anyway.
Our friends from Chicago came to town for a wedding. They asked the Help to babysit Eric while they attended. We got to go out again!
We went to the Flamingo Casino. We stayed in their room on the 18th floor. Boy that Eric can move around. I can hardly wait until I can do that.
Today is also the birthday of the United States of America. They are old.
My second visitors! Some friends were in town for a wedding and they came to our place for a visit. Stephanie held me and taught me a Taiwanese word, but I already forgot it.
Aven is holding my new friend Eric, who just turned 1 year old in June. Eric is like me... a Canadian American.
My cousin was in town with her friends and she stopped by to meet me. She is from Vancouver, Canada. Her name is Adeleen.
She was very nice, but she did not want to hold me. :(
The Help finally took me to a location that wasn't a doctors office or medical lab. We went for a nice evening walk along the paths in Desert Breeze Park around the playground and doggie parks. A few people made comments about how cute I am. I pretended to sleep.
In my town there is a medical lab open 24 hours a day. The Help took me to get a blood test called a PKU at 9pm. That way it wasn't too hot outside.
Ted at Quest Diagnostics took blood from my heel. It hurt but he was a nice man. He has five children.
It was Canada Day, too, today! Canada is old.
It's late. Sleep now.
